In the medium/long term, if/when AI does everything, the software industry is over. If you can ask AI for anything and produce it for next to no cost, there's no need for developers, and practically 0 value in software products. I don't think that will happen in our lifetimes, and if it did AI would be taking nearly every white collar job anyway.
The more likely scenario is AI-aided development increases productivity massively. I think it's unlikely that this would lead to a decline in software jobs (although they will probably change), as that assumes that software demand has peaked. In my experience in every job I've had, there's always too much work and too little time, plus the ability to do more with the same resources generally means that in order to stay competitive, you have to do more.
