We could've continued decarbonizing electrical grids across the continental US or used the intermittent excess capacity for experimental ways to decouple production of food and pharmaceuticals from land use and petroleum extraction or even used AI to analyze traffic flow in urban and metropolitan areas; instead (as a predictable downstream effect of ~70% of this country's wealth being owned by ~10% of its population), we're building out AI datacenters to churn out slopaganda or put humans in creative professions out of work and selling weapons grade plutonium to startups so those AI datacenters can be powered by privately owned and operated microreactors.🤬
