I've been saying this for the past 10-15 years.
We're trying to run the AI age on economic systems designed in the steam age.
This is not a shallow "technology bad" or "capitalism bad" but the fact that capitalism is PAINFULLY outdated and unable to adapt to contemporary, let alone future, technology without making the vast majority of people be "acceptable losses"
