Not an artist and you seem cool. Not saying you are wrong about AI or art as a whole, just wanted to give my perspective.
I would have chosen the AI Pollock as well because it's much more interesting and evocative than the landscape AI painting. Isn't that what art is supposed to do? Not just look "nice" but encourage us to think and push boundaries on expression. That's partly why Hitler was rejected from art school. His paintings were passable but extremely boring, while his peers were doing much more abstract and interesting work that went on to push the boundaries of the art form.
Regarding the CIA and Pollock, I don't think the CIA supporting Pollock's art to encourage abstract art styles as a way of getting one over the Soviets should devalue his art anymore so than that of the Soviet masters whose art was supported for the exact same purpose but to serve the opposing ideology.
I'm skeptical of modern art but even pieces like "Comedian" can be thought provoking and the debate it kicked off is valuable for the art world just as "Fountain" was a century earlier. Idk just my 2 cents as someone who interacts with art very casually
