The Pollock hate is kinda triggering me. Everybody always has a flippant comment about how untalented Abstract Expressionism is, until you try to do it yourself and it looks like shit. You realise pretty much immediately that those dudes knew what they where doing in terms of colour, composition and even plasticity. It wasn't a trivial endeavour, especially in an environment where this was a new expression and not the art of yesteryear. The constant whining about modernism is every bit as short-sighted as the people who once ridiculed figurative art as obsolete. AI bros are tapping into this extremely shallow take to legitimise themselves.
