I feel like with AI art, there's a huge flaw in terms of the gains of the artists themselves. Just like Sam has mentioned, artists are not compensated for having their art practically stolen by a system the generates generally mediocre art. It's obviously not fair, which is why the systems need to give out at least some sort of profit to the artists for posting their art on social media, because frankly, AI would've never been what it is now without them. In fact, artists should be paid for putting their works out there BECAUSE they subjected to plajurism by other human theaves, water marks included. The system should also provide the references that were used to create a certain peice for additional credit. This a perfect example of how art cannot be showcased at no cost, because it's no different to leaving your phone unattended at a subway station, it's going to get stolen sooner or later, and whilst legal action can be taken, it's best to not risk it and do it right from the get-go.
