AI in it’s current form (what the laymen call LLMs) will not surpass human proficiency across tasks. The ceiling is already close. Visual gen AI will continue to improve a bit more. Beyond which it will stagnate. Those who work with LLMs know its limitations.
AI is being heavily subsidised. As soon as this stops, the cost of having AI generate slop will go through the roof.
AI is extremely useful. But it is not on the road to AGI - in any capacity.
