Considering the "teething troubles" that driverless cars have had, perhaps putting that technology into a massive truck with a heavy cargo load traveling at upwards of 80 miles an hour isn't the best idea.
Also a horifying thought while typing this, what are the odds that tech companies will lobby the government to make driverless vehicles exempt from speed limits on highways? Especially if they cite the numerous made-up in-house studies claiming they're safer than manned vehicles...
