AI tech bros aren't trying to save people's time with AI image generators.
I don't think it's any coincidence that these AI tech bros, many who have expressed a desire for fascist systems of government that would entrench a place in power for them, are going after artists, who are some of the people most commonly known to speak truth to power and to challenge power structures.
It's also why you get so many people on the Internet demanding that their art be completely devoid of any real substance, demanding that all art they consume just merely operate on a surface level with no hidden meaning (I once legitimately saw somebody compare a movie having subtext to "grooming").
Those folks want AI art because they want art that says nothing because if the art says something, people will consider how the world should be improved, and that kind of thinking always leads to dismantling power structures.
