I remember being at school before the ai and spending hours on homework, coming home and spending often till late at night trying to get though classes that i never really suceeded at, never being allowed to leave house and meet friends or just have free time because of school work. if ai was created back then i would definitly overuse it, and I do understand why it is at the point it is currently.
now im at uni and half of my classmates overuse it to the point its crutches not a tool. A lot of people cheat on tests, exams, assigments. there are classes that only people who used gpt passed, and due to outdated grading where only top 30% pass it is pretty much impossible. group projects are another kind of nightmere, i study engeneering and am often asked by the person im paired up to read through what the ai told them because they dont even understand what it is telling them, asking why they did what they did is extreamly often met with "idk, gpt told me" and im considered to be the weird one for not doing the saeme and acussed of secretly doing the same
