As a HS student who is trying to go into the medical field (AKA not an expert but I do care about this subject), I have always been of the opinion that doctors won't be replaced, but AI can potentially be used as a tool, which she said. There are inherently human factors that a computer (at least in the foreseeable future) wouldn't be able to replicate, such as picking up on behavioral symptoms/signs, noticing things that the patient doesn't self report as signs or symptoms, bedside manner, dealing with family, and delivering good or bad news. However, for things like second opinions, a well-trained computer program might be helpful one day. Food for thought. At this point though, please try to see a doctor if you're having medical problems! ChatGPT isn't the answer.
