i read some personal injury demands that were written by an AI company that supposedly specialized in this exact type of work and they were god awful. it literally just made stuff up and it was in no way an acceptable replacement for legal writing. although i think with close supervision ai could be a helpful tool for writing some portions of the demand, there are some written documents that are far too important to trust ai with. what ai writes needs to be just as heavily fact checked as what a human would write, probs even more so. on the other hand, personal injury demands are being sent to insurance companies which most likely are using ai to analyze them so i guess we gotta fight fire with fire? all this is to say that i doubt ai will replace lawyers regardless of unauthorized practice of law being a literal crime... [also side note for all the artists and writers who have been ousted by ai, maybe consider going to law school? you can get in with any bachelor's degree... i got a full ride scholarship and my BA is in visual arts. you pretty much just have to sell your sole to the state bar, nbd tho]
