Honestly, self-driving cars have come a long way, but I think there's a simpler way to improve the whole concept. Imagine if instead of each car navigating independently, we had a dedicated path that they all followed. These paths could be clear and unobstructed, maybe even separated from regular traffic to avoid accidents. The cars could travel in a line, almost like they’re linked together, which would make the whole system more efficient.
Now, to make it even better, what if we increased the size of the car? Instead of just one person per car, we could fit, say, 30 or 40 people in a single vehicle. This would drastically reduce the number of vehicles on the road, making it far more efficient and eco-friendly. Plus, having fewer vehicles to manage would make coordinating and controlling them much easier.
And to top it off, instead of each car having its own power source, they could all draw power from a single central source, reducing energy consumption even further. We could even have designated stops along the way for people to get on and off safely. This way, you could optimize the route for the most direct travel between high-demand areas.
If the paths were fixed and the vehicles were linked, you'd eliminate a lot of the challenges with navigation, pedestrian detection, and unexpected obstacles.
Honestly, how has no one thought of this yet?
