Here's another thing: Even in a perfect AU where Generators are perfectly benevolent and made of pure magic and rainbows and 0% theft whatsoever... When there's a zillion pieces of ACTUAL art, music, vector graphics, video, reference material, and stock media, much of which is FREE or even open source, and constantly being cranked out minute by minute, by real humans... what's even the point of a machine doing it? At the very best an AI would be just another collage-maker or remix tool; at worst, it would spam out actual media with its output, and be rejected in this AU just the same as ours
