Karen, your examples of free agency & a fight for a fair wage are not wins against the empire of AI, they do nothing to slow the exploitation or the growth of AI. Sam lied to get people to use AI, because they thought they were getting something for free. No, Sam was getting free language model trainers for AI & a future population that would be dependent on using it. Companies invest huge sums in AI, even when it shows no profitable returns on their investments. Companies lay off workers based on the greed of future promises of AGI. Now counties & the military are investing in AI for the fear they will be left behind is too late has AI become the self fulfilling prophecy of both the boomers & doomers? It's like living in Hong Kong & expecting to maintain free agency forever.
