The problem I have is that the marketing mentality is to always present ONLY the positives. If people focus on the negatives they are less likely to take the bait and be in full support. The end goal si something that they aren't talking about. Even jews during the constant liquididation of the jews always thought they would be spared because they were considered and labeled "essential workers" but that was only a tactic to prevent panic and posisble revolt of what their future had already been determined to be. No corporate CEO is going to be happy about other people making more money, because that means the company those people work for would inevitably have to pay them more, but as long as they have HOPE as a carrot to dangle, then people will hold out and let these corporations continue to work toward the absolution of a human workforce. The only need they have for consumers is to buy their product so they can continue with version 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 and so on. Once they have no need for consumers and these companies are completely autonomous and self sufficient, they have no need for anyone else. Also another reason why they all want to built their own nuclear reactors to power their facilities. if they have their own powersource, they're not reliant on the government for utilities. As far as universal basic income, people think that's going to be a lot more than what they're living on now?! wouldn't bet on it. They will only pay what's necessary to appease, so they don't have an uprising like the roman empire fell to.
