I think many of us would actually prefer fighting Terminators instead of fighting each other over scraps and jobs. At least we would be united against the machines. That may be a stretch but loads of jobs are disappearing everyday. Yet, the United States doesn't want China to get an advantage cause they could use AI in any number of destructive ways upon us or any of their enemies etc.
