I am not against the idea of AI tools for art. The issue is that the tech isn't there yet. Its not even close. What generative AI creates isn't what an artist wants. Its just something that looks like someone might have wanted it. Actually creating art is impossible because the level of control given by AI at the current level is simply not enough for anyone to translate their artistic vision into reality. A skilled hand and a brush can do that. A Pencil can do that. A drawing tablet and pen can do that. A literal collage can do that. Gen AI can't. No matter how much you prompt you won't get what is required for art. The image in your head will stay there and everything you try to impress upon the AI will be lost. The end result is simply not what your artistic vision saw. People satisfied with Gen AI simply don't understand or care about that aspect. They see what it makes and like someone who saw art made by someone else they think its good with no connection to themselves present.
