It's a new creative medium that offers even more speed than digital art. The possibilities it adds to art is a huge net positive. You can find thumbnails that match your vision.
The problem comes when you give artist the choice, That choice being.
1- Spend 10-20-30+ hours of work on 1 illustration, sketching it out, inking the lines and adding line weight, coloring it, adding a background and drawing each detail in the background with love and care.
2- Spend 10-20-30+ minutes of work on 1 illustration, roughing out the composition using various shortcut methods and then letting Ai image to image into something that is 90% your style. Then using the last 15 minutes of time to adjust various things to match how your art usually looks. Sometimes I redraw certain parts and image to image again
In a society where most people value instant gratification, Spending 30 minutes on a work of art that illustrates your brains idea at the cost of 2-5% of your style seems very attractive. Plus option 2 lets you make 10 illustrations while option 1 is just 1
