With USA leading the way, consumerism is so crazy that people buy stuff as a form of protest "let's all buy merchandising to support this company" (guns community vs boyboys), or they use buy now pay later for even sandwitches, which proves that they will get in debt in 10 different banks before they stop buying shit. Therefore when AI replace humans to the point that unemployement is a massive issue, it will still be "a problem for the next generation, let's get rich right now". Also there is no directions, it's not like 5 guys decided next society would be built on cars, it was just the natural obvious evolution. AI does it, and the same way that internet destroyed renting movies shops, we simply need to accept and adapt this new paradigm.
