An AI’s behaviour and interaction with human beings is certainly impressive and easily passes the Turing test! But an AI is not a conscious being because it has no awareness, no subjective experience, and certainly no sense of self; it does not perceive, feel, or understand—it merely processes data and generates outputs based on data patterns, without any internal experience of meaning or existence. Any resemblance to consciousness is purely an illusion.
