Imagine how you could bring down the world population and make it seem like it’s just “something that happens”? If you were among the richest people I. The world, and no matter what happened, you have enough resources to protect yourself. If you owned everything and could do anything, clearing out the masses just makes more beautiful space to enjoy your kingdom. You would only need a handful of people to serve your needs since machines and AI could do the rest. You might start out with a plague. Then you could build a system that could cause hopelessness in the remaining masses. They’d take care of the next chunk of humanity. After that, slowly cause factions to fight factions. Pretty soon, “wow. It’s so quiet”. Let’s go to the beach.
I think God will step in well before that could play out. Won’t stop their planning though.
