Many people are aware of president Eisenhower's parting speech as president and how he warned us of the military industrial complex.
Very few people have heard his entire speech where he warns us of technology and AI for these reasons.
That was about 65:yrs ago.
How did he know this was coming back then.
A computer that could do maybe about a quarter (probably much less than that) of what our phones can do, took up an entire large building.
Maybe it had connections to the MIC.
I really don't know.
But that is amazing and very scary.
Given what the average citizen knew about computers in that time, it makes sense that it got ignored.
