Even before ChatGPT, critical and deep thinking has been a problem for a lot of people. The rise of AI just exposes this. People want to escape the discomfort of learning and now they have a easy way to escape it by having AI do it for them. It's not the tool's fault.
I use ChatGPT to bounce ideas and deepen my understanding of certain topics. I compare things. I point out when something doesn't line up. I test it in the real world. I discard information that is basic and not useful. I use my intuition and common sense.
