As an author (academic) that has tested AI systems about my research, I am happy that the information is more accessible.
I am not happy that it plagiarizes my actual writing word-for-word; nor does it actually cite me anywhere regarding the ideas that I worked for years to develop and create.
There’s a bigger problem at hand too, which is tracking the development of “knowledge” itself. I’m mostly an intellectual historian- “history of ideas.” AI has the frightening potential to erase this entire field of history.
