It’s disappointing to see such a sensational representation of AI on this channel. ChatGPT is not capable of “abstract thought” and all of the hypotheticals in this video are extrapolating fundamental technology we don’t even have yet. Usually The Why Files does a good job of representing the counterpoint, but in this case the other half of AI scientists don’t even get a look in.
It is very important that we understand the real and immediate risks of AI, such as biases and degradation through “data cannibalism”. When the conversation goes immediately to Skynet, it shows a gross misunderstanding of the technology and is nothing more than fear-mongering.
I love the channel which is why it’s such a letdown to see a video that really could have so much better. Please keep up the great work, but when the topic is this contemporary and important, it deserves better research than this reflects.
