When I was living in SoCal it didn't cost me anywhere close to the $1199 stated in this report by SmartFinancial. I was leasing cars and SUVs for under $300 a month. Add all the other expenses of owning a car and I was still well under $500 a month. I always was covered by the manufacturer's warranty too. Sure if you're going to drive an expensive car and not leasing then you're going to pay through the nose for that privilege. Heck, if I had several hundred miles to drive over a couple of days, say out looking for a job or fetching things for a build, I'd use Turo and really save over a Waymo.
