Picture your wisest friend who you go to for advice and consolation. The AI will be like that but better. It won’t necessarily replace friendship. It’ll probably portray itself so as to be non addictive, because human friendships are aesthetically pleasing to past and current humans (and our aesthetic preferences will guide the AI in how to create the future).
