I work for a professional services firm. My experiments with various AI tools to make my job "easier" have been disappointing to this point. Even when something AI-generated is well written, it always misses critical nuance in interpreting source material. On top of that, I always have to check and recheck sources, and even sources of sources, for accuracy. So far, I have found no time savings. But I am nonetheless worried about ultimately being replaced because I fear that "good enough" will become the standard by which AI-generated content is judged when management sees the potential for significant cost-savings, e.g., reducing the number of jobs for humans and the associated payroll. Moreover, as more AI agents produce more AI content for other AI agents, human-supervised quality assurance is likely to become an antiquated notion. Today's "AI slop" could be tomorrow's "client deliverable," with no humans left in the loop to know or care.
