For every force, there's always a contrary force. It's outright impossible for AI to take over all jobs. AI is a tool that must be wielded and supervised by people, it cannot possibly function all on its own. Plus, we've been automating things for centuries, and the job market has only ever increased. Especially when you consider that the human population also increased dramatically alongside it, and women got into the worker market as well in meanwhile. Automation always creates a lot more jobs than it takes. Machines cannot manufacture themselves, or distribute themselves, install themselves, operate themselves, maintain themselves, supervise themselves, etc, etc, and they also can't clean the toilets and do paperwork.
And you can only ever automate tasks with predictable and consistent patterns.
Also, Universal Basic Income is a complete fantasy. If people are struggling financially, then there's no way people can ever be buying enough goods for companies to afford financing people's UBI through taxes. That's a completely contradictory idea. People are the ones generating wealth, not the big companies. The majority of the market is made of small businesses.
Any society that is wealthy enough to sustain a UBI is a society that doesn't need a UBI at all.
Also, automation raises living standards. It's contradictory to consider the need for a UBI as a consequence of automation. If we're getting better off economically, then we're getting less need for financial aid.
