I would be extremely weary of bills that have names that "sound like a pretty good act". Like sure, A ban on AI generated child pornography is a good idea. But the bill has been criticized for having language so ambiguous that it could be used to ban any artwork (not only AI) that could be interpreted as "obscene depictions of underage children". And knowing Republicans they would probably use it to ban picture books about transgender people and arrest their illustrators.
This is such a common tactic in modern politics, name a bill something that lets you paint any opposition as "opposing a ban on child porn". Of course I support a well written bill that bans AI generated child pornography, but we need to be very careful about Anti-AI sentiment being used to sneak in overly broad and easy to abuse laws.
