Most people who have played around with the online Chatgpt and similar programs found out that the information provided is often wrong. Evidence for that, when given to the program to show the error does not result in an apology for the failure. It will take the new track, and act like it knew it all the time. So when they said "babysit" the system, I know on an elementary level what they are referring to. I have gotten wrong weather reports, very slanted opinions on what is going on with Russia's infrastructure (left leaning), and it discourages unproven speculation about the universe, patterns in creation, cycles in social evolution and earth changes, and more. It does a guardrail drive-by when discussing anything outside of published proof of most things. It easily misunderstands questions. You must be very clear what you are looking for, and why. All that said, it has been a teaching tool for me, and has brought together a lot of information in the news from around the world that I would not have seen. As a teaching tool for probably any subject, it's amazing. I am excited that students will learn so much easier with A.I. and similar programs that can go over the material as much as needed.
