There are people talking about robot rights? Now? We are absolutely nowhere near that. This is a really good perspective even if I do disagree that robots will never be in a position to be humanized. Right now they are a tool. A hammer.
This definitely casts a different light on the hype and bs surrounding the search for the singularity. It is a search.
Any work towards rights for any potential singularities must be built on a foundation of rights for everyone, the moment it starts blotting out that conversation, we are not accomplishing anything and I am in lockstep behind every part of this video.
The relationship between labor and robots makes this an easy conflation, even if we are not acknowledging that robots have a different relationship to labor than we do.
This got me thinking a lot. Thank you again for the perspective!
