Im a huge fan and AI enthusiast because its an amazing tool to make creative process accessible to broader audiences. However, as a hobby 3D-artist, I have to agree with the fact that said clip was directly copied.
The problem with a lot of this generative AI, is that it is very bad at synthesising different sources. It usually ends up stealing the top search entry of whatever prompt you wrote.
Meaning if you write "Women with raven wings" , 9 times out of 10 youre going to get a direct replica of a popular Gacha-Game character called Raven, instead of your actual prompt. AI is amazing, but the current iteration isnt nearly as intelligent as we give it credit for. It just steals and synthesizes other artists work. Without access to a massive library of their pictures, often disregarding license agreements, they wouldnt be capable at all.
AI shouldnt be able to access copyrighted art, unless the artist agrees to it.
If AI actually comes up with it's own art, great. But as long as it just steals and slightly recontextualises other peoples art, fuck it.
