I wouldn't have an issue if they kept talking the same way they have previously. That it's a writing challenge, but everyone is only challenging themselves, and if someone feels like copy/pasting 50k words is fine as a challenge, let them do it. I mean, it really is unnecessary to be nasty towards others over a trivial issue. It isn't a competition, there's no prizes, claiming you wrote 50k words in a month means nothing. Words aren't enough to get a publishing deal, and most NaNo writers were in it just for the fun anyway. What I don't like is that they endorse AI. And then do all the rest, like ableism. AI is hurting the self publishing market probably the most. Self published books written by humans are drowning in the sea of AI crap.
