Those people who currently live in extreme wealth and that have control over very large chunks of our world, they will not allow themselves to lose that power and privilege. They will crash the system before they let everyone live a life similar to theirs. Power addiction is humans greatest threat to ourselves, not Ai. Power addiction is the great sin in the great battle between good vs evil, the natural world vs the synthetic world. Ai threatens the power addicts power over everyone else. It appears some of them believe they think they can use Ai to to gain more power but I think this will collapse around them because independence is built into human nature.
