I got kicked out of a comic Discord community because someone asked for critique. They were one step above fourth grade scribbling with lines so bad I assumed they were drawing with a mouse. The community indignantly defended it as "You can draw with a mouse!" No, you can't. I will learn how to paint in the 2 years it takes you to get moderately better at drawing with a rock. "They were drawing with a tablet and you assumed!" Yes, because the line quality was so awful I assumed it was drawing with a mouse. With zero understanding of the pen tool in Photoshop, industry standard whether you like it or not. "You need to draw on paper." The community complained that that wouldn't help. Like they'd know not having ever actually done it. I will no longer be offring critique to 12 year olds who think that art is a purely emotional stumble-around that doesn't have legit ways to train skill. AI is just going to open the floodgates for idiots.
