My own little hypothesis is this: The top 50 or 100 people on the planet don´t care too much about revenue anymore, they are beyond it by this point.
The true endgame: tech bro billionaires building robots until humans are not necessary any longer to uphold their personal living standard. Then they´ll have AI and robots marginalize or exterminate humanity (notice how Elon Musk was called a "specieist" for insisting that mankind should survive and how Peter Thiel hesitated when asked if human survival was something he endorsed), while sitting in a doomsday bunker in New Zealand. Afterwards, they will have total control and can start repopulating the planet with their 50 or so (more or less voluntary) playmates.
The game was never about money (what would you need even more money for if you are a billionaire already?), money is just a means of power. Ultimate power is no one left to oppose you claiming every and all resources of the planet.
