Real autopilot: autonomously flies the plane. Can take off, maneuver in flight to get from point A to point B, and land without pilot intervention.
Tesla's Autopilot: glorified cruise control.
Tesla SHOULD face liability just for daring to call their system Autopilot. That was false advertising right off the bat. They knew what they were doing. The name immediately makes a consumer think the car can drive itself, and that was their exact intent for sales purposes.
