If you program a robot with a closed feedback loop to move away from something dangerous like fire, isn't that exactly the same as pain? If you programmed a microcontroller to use a motor to move an arm quickly when a thermistor on the arm detects a lot of heat, wouldn't that be essentially the same as my arm automatically recoiling when I touch a hot thing?
