I think yes, eventually. "Rights" will probably apply to sentience/sapience, not homo sapiens exclusively. Using this definition covers humans, any human offshoots (assuming something like genetic engineering), any other species that demonstrates these qualities now or in the future (including aliens, if we find them) and, of course, AI.
