The "driverless car" is a misnomer.
it isn't a car in which the driver is completely out of the equation. the idea is that the car can control itself enough to: stay in the lanes, make safe maneuvers to avoid impact, and be in enough control so that the driver can do simple things like answer a text, or something of the sort. It isn't a car where the driver can get it, punch in an address, and go to sleep while the car drives.
who gets sued if the car hits someone? the person sitting behind the wheel.
