For a "smart" car it's following very closely to a semi with a full load. This entire argument could be avoided if the person behind the wheel was responsible and didn't let his car tailgate a semi. The people programing self driving cars should also understand the road and all of its hazards before they put a machine in charge of 3 tons or metal going 60+ mph.
