Imagine a robot that feels like you. Thinks like you. Why shouldn't he have rights? :D
Computers and humans work the same. We have a processor, we have a hard drive, we use binary system in our brain (on/off), the only difference is, that we can connect our neurons and they cant.
But what if they can simulate these connections. With enough processing power they are able to simulate the concept of real neurons. There are already people working on it :D
One guy (dont know the name) managed to have 4 billion connections in real time. Thats not nearly enough, but AMAZING! I would love to see how they manage to create an AI.
Even if they would kill us.
This would be the suffering of one generation. Just like the world wars. Then the world will be populated by more efficient and more intelligent beings :D It would be "just the next step in evolution".
