Great video as always! I often find myself thinking about this particular topic. Certainly people would try everything in their power to not grant machines their own right, should they become self aware. Not to mention that we are still struggling in recognizing right to our fellow humans and animals, and I agree that recognizing rights of AIs and machines will be no different and it will go through the same old hurdles. Honestly, I am of the opinion that any being that is self aware and is receptive to pain and discomfort, should be protected and be granted their right to live a fair life. I hope to see more of this topic being brought up as the years advance and AI technology develops!
