As a truck driver who's been doing this for years, I see this as a safety issue. I don't care how sophisticated the AI is going to be our highways look like shit they are not properly maintained and they will always look like shit. I am from New Jersey when it snows over here and the plows have to come out they destroy the highways and in turn it takes God knows how long to get the funds to repave the highways not to mention local side streets which looks worse than the highway. These super AI tractors or whatever you want to call them sound like they are going to be very sensitive. My Freightliner has proximity sensors and Lane departure sensors that are no longer working properly. So, to be honest I say bring these new AI tractors let's see how long these companies want to shell out hundreds of thousands to constantly repair sensitive new high-tech tractors that need to be driven on roads that can't have any potholes or missing any lines to clearly mark driving lanes. On top of all that I'm not even going to touch trucks getting stuck in the snow.But, I will let's see how these super AI tractors operate in freezing temperatures and in dangerous conditions when the lanes are covered in snow. lastly buddy you sound a little too excited to hear that these crooked corporations are ready to replace humans with machines. You should be condemning this instead of condoning it and saying this kind of technology is inevitable.
