But like you said if a toaster can't move does it feel bad about being put in containment. If all AI are fundamentally programmed so that their self fulfillment comes from completing their programmed task (toasting bread, harvesting crops, building buildings) then does making them work really take away their rights. If all robots are programmed like the toaster at the beginning, feeling no pain, tiredness or self-esteem, then they can be 1 dimensional, with only their task as being important to them
