The problem isn't exactly robots that operates within certain programming limitations, it is robots that are able to operate *outside* of their programming. Autonomous robots as we know them now are only autonomous within certain parameters, determined by their creators and programmers. We are in trouble when a robot begins to operate of its own free will, and when it becomes self-aware.
