I don’t think the average citizen is informed enough about data management and biometrics to be able to give consent to these corps for their data. We shouldn’t have an opt-out culture of data collection or even allow consent from users to have their data collected. It’s a government’s responsibility to protect its horribly naive and ignorant citizens but unfortunately it’s just taken advantage of
