Probably, but the big question is *when*. It sounds like you are talking about what might be possible with AGI. I personally don't think that AGI can be achieved without a different approach. Most of the current investment you read about is going toward LLMs and generative AI, as this technology has already proven useful and (potentially) profitable. I agree with those experts who believe LLMs are a dead end when it comes to AGI. We are already seeing diminishing returns as the highest quality data has already been trained on. As others have said, "LLMs can't cure cancer, because the cure for cancer isn't in the training data." This goes for all the other big problems facing humanity. LLMs can help us organize, examine, disseminate and apply existing human knowledge much more quickly and efficiently, but they can't generate new knowledge.
